Three in a Row for the 2s NOE 2nds 45-0 Copsewood 1sts Eds 2s outclassed the opposition right from kick off with a quite outstanding display of running rugby from their backs. Winger Stuart Neale opened the scoring with a try after 2 minutes. 4 minutes later Simon Blackmore increased the lead with a dazzling run from his own half duly converted by James Littlehales. Blackmore then scored again following some impressive interpassing with several players, Littlehales converted. Eds dominated all areas of the game except the line out in which Copsewood managed to get some possession. John Cox added to the total just before half time converted by Littlehales to make it 26 – 0. Copsewood nearly broke their duck early in the second half but Eds were saved with a tremendous tackle by full back Joe Baker. Number 8 Tej Kalirai broke through setting up a score for James Littlehales. Jackie White then added another converted by James Littlehales. Centre Jez Hastings then stunned the crowd with a burst of speed that set up a converted try for John Ley. The game ended with the highlight of the afternoon which some superb running and passing only for the ball to be dropped over the line. Nevertheless an enjoyable afternoon for the men in red. Next week’s league game away to Kenilworth will not be so easy. John Collins
