I am writing to invite your Club to our 2008 Ten-a-Side Tournament. This well-established Midlands event will be celebrating its FIFTHEENTH ANNIVERSARY on Sunday 4th May 2008.
This year we hope to be able to award the winning teams a massive £500 in prize money*!!!
Last May we held an extremely successful day with both Men’s and Ladies competitions, involving over 30 teams. The games were played in an excellent spirit and provided superb rugby. Many players and spectators commented on the Tens format allowing forwards as well as backs to take a full part in the tournament. The “Rugby Evening” we held that night was outstanding and will be a feature of this year’s itinerary.

The Tournament – An Outline

The Tournament will take place on Sunday 4th May 2008. The following day is the May Day bank holiday – which allows for rest and recovery!
The Club boasts large grounds and sufficient pitches to mount a large Tournament in one day. Matches will commence at 10:30am and finish at 6:30pm.
The Tournament is arranged on a League basis for a minimum of 3 matches per team.
Tens’ matches last 10 minutes each way – a set of rules will be sent to you.
I’m confident that we will continue to build upon the foundations already laid, and once again provide a tournament that is attractive to players and spectators alike.

If teams wish to make the weekend a tour we can arrange games at our club on the Saturday and advise of rugby friendly accommodation or pitch your tents at the ground.

INSURANCE ISSUES

It is important to ensure that your players are covered for insurance.
This is the responsibility of the Clubs.
Nuneaton Old Edwardians’ insurance covers its own players only.
The position vis-à-vis insurance is set out below –
If your team is affiliated to the RFU, and is playing under its normal Club name, you are covered.
Note: The Tournament occurs within the season.
Teams not covered above (i.e. ‘Guest’ Teams) can apply cover for the Tournament
via the RFU by completing the Single Match Application Form which is available to

Please allow 2 weeks for the application form to be processed.
The cost of the insurance is around £35.00.
