Tries: Craig Quick, Jody Peacock, Craig Court, Matt Steele
Cons: Craig Quick(2)

The Eds lost in their first ever Warwickshire Cup Final appearance by 24-50 at the neutral venue of Broadstreet RFC. It was always going to be a long shot for the Eds to win as underdogs, having finished in 11th place in their first season in Midlands 1, compared to the favourites Sutton Coldfield who finished only a point away from 3rd place.

The Eds started the brighter of the two sides and should have scored after only 5 minutes on the clock, but winger Sam Brennan couldn't keep hold of the ball whilst under pressure and diving for the line. Sutton seemed buoyed by this near miss and shortly afterwards won a kickable penalty to register the first score of the day 0-3.

Worse was to follow when they extended their lead soon afterwards with a try following a mistake by the Eds, the normally reliable Sutton kicker then surprised the crowd by missing the conversion, but still 0-8 to Sutton. The Eds then created a number of good chances, notably a break by wing Ashley Kalnins from a planned move, but took the wrong options when scoring seemed easier before fullback Jody Peacock got the first Eds points on the board with a try wide right, converted by Craig Quick, 7-8 and game on.

However, the pattern of play that followed summed up the afternoon for the Eds with any good work done by them soon undone and Sutton retook the lead virtually from the kick off with another converted try, 7-15. The Eds forced a good field position again, but coughed up position when it mattered and Sutton broke away to extend their lead to a worrying 7-22.

Fortunately for the Eds, with half time rapidly approaching, a useful forward drive deep in to the Sutton 22 gave Craig Quick just enough space to rumble for the posts, it looked like he’d been held up short, but his fully outstretched arm was just long enough to reach the line, a quality finish which he also converted leaving the score at 14-22 with all to play for in the 2nd half.

After the re-start it soon became clear that Sutton had a good deal more left in the tank than the Eds and they produced a raft of breaks and chances as the Eds were left over stretched for long periods and distinctly second best. However, the Eds battled to the finish and scored 2 more tries of their own through replacements Craig Court and Matt Steele neither of which were converted for a final score of 24-50. No one player really stood out for Sutton, instead they showed a much better overall level of fitness and were more consistent in their team play and decision making, something for the Eds to think about as they prepare for next season.

Eds v Warwickshire Report

(H) NOERFC XV 24 Warwickshire XV 58

Tries: Stuart Holes, Ashley Kalnins, Ryan Jenkins
Cons: Craig Quick(2), Duncan Carter
Drop Goals: Craig Quick

FORGET that scoreline - this game was more about officially turning on the new floodlights at Weddington Road than playing the cream of the county's rugby talent. Shame, then, that the Warwickshire Rugby Union chose the occasion to parade a virtual busload of players in what amounted to a trial game instead of a straightforward competition. The game was even divided into two periods of 25 minutes and one of 30 to enable the county selectors to rotate their vast number of players and reduce the game somewhat below expectation. Credit has to go to the Eds players who fought gamely, but eventually exhaustedly, against a fast and fluid county line-up. The big difference between the two protagonists - it is hardly fair to call them teams with so many players taking part - was behind the scrum. The county outfit had pace and skills that could only be admired and bodes well for their future. Eds never gave in but the points difference could have been far greater had the visitors not opted to take a casual approach to conversion attempts by drop-kicking them. Eds went behind on seven minutes to a try but three minutes later a jinking run by outstanding flanker Stuart Holes saw him score under the posts and fly-half Craig quick converted. The county then pulled ahead to 17-7 with a couple of tries before Quick dropped a goal to make it 10-17. Eds were more than holding their own and levelled at 17-17 with a try from winger Ashley Kalnins converted by Quick. Top referee Steve Savage, a former Eds skipper and president, kept the game alive where others might have stopped it and after the first break the county took charge to go 36-17 up. Shortly before the second break Eds replacement fly-half Duncan Carter timed a pass perfectly to send Bedworth guest player Ryan Jenkins, at centre, in under the posts and the conversion made it 24-36. That was the end of Eds' scoring as the county men took over with a bewildering display of back play to top the half-century. Eds coach Paul Vowles said: "We needed to compete for the first period and did well. It was a good performance and gave a lot of players a run out." Eds attention now turns to the Warwickshire Cup final against Sutton Coldfield at Broadstreet RFC, Coventry, on Sunday, May 9.

TWO remarkable kick-and-chase tries by winger Ashley Kalnins were the features of an outstanding afternoon for Old Eds as they completed the league season with an emphatic win over Stratford in the Weddington Road sunshine.
Eds finished third from bottom, six points clear of the relegation places, and can look back on a campaign that saw some startling highs and depressing lows.
But they will have learned a great deal about life in Midlands 1 West which will prepare them for hopefully better things next time around.
On Saturday against Stratford the home side gave their supporters some customary anxious moments after going well ahead at 17-3 early in the second half before Stratford got back to 22-17 and pressing hard before rallying to race away to comfortable victory.
Jody Peacock, who had played all season at centre, moved to full-back for this game and his timely incursions into attack showed what an adaptable player he is.
With fly-half Craig Quick's big boot pinning Stratford back and the home forwards in dominant mood, this was a rare win for Eds against the visitors from the south of the county.
Stratford, in fact, went ahead after seven minutes with a penalty but it was Eds who began to take over and, after losing flanker Stuart Holes for 10 minutes for foul play, began to take over despite being a man down.
On 25 minutes hooker Stuart Gibson, later rightly named Eds player of the season at an awards evening, put in a powerful burst which took play to the visitors' line before fizzling out.
Eds were now moving the ball with confidence and on 37 minutes Peacock was up for a try wide which Quick could not improve.
A minute later it was 12-3 to Eds as Peacock again burst forward, handed on to winger Jake Woodcock, took a return pass and sent Holes steaming in for Quick to convert.
Kalnins's impressive afternoon began a minute after the resumption when he collected the ball inside his own 22, kicked ahead and saw off a desperate Stratford challenge to win the touchdown and make it 17-3.
On four minutes Stratford came back to 17-10 with a converted try and the home supporters' anxiety began to show.
However, on 10 minutes, Peacock again went forward in attack and sent Woodcock over wide out to stretch the lead to 22-10.
Six minutes later centre Sven Brown badly injured an elbow and Peacock moved up in his place, with Matt Steele taking his.
Stratford had by no means given up the fight and on 18 minutes scored a breakaway try which was improved and they were just 22-17 adrift.
Eds brought on Adey Nightingale on at flanker in place of Alex Cape and prop Craig Court replaced Richie Evans.
The rest of the game - and all the points - belonged to Eds.
First no.8 Paul Rees, a powerhouse throughout, stole away from a line-out for a try to make it 27-17 and on the half-hour Steele was up in the line to burst over in the corner and this time Peacock's conversion sailed over - 34-17.
Two minutes later Kalnins again hacked on and won a thrilling race for the touchdown. Peacock converted and Stratford's complaints that it was no try resulted in the referee awarding Eds a penalty from the restart - 41-17.
At the end Eds coach Paul Vowles singled out young centre Sam Brennan, particularly for his sound defence again speedy opponents.
Reflecting on the season, Vowles added: "It's nice to finish with a win but we did set some targets at the start that we failed to achieve.
"Today we really dug in and scored some excellent tries."

BEATEN and battered but by no means belittled, Old Eds came back down to earth with a bump at balmy Bournville.
After the midweek victory over Laurentians, which saw them reach the Warwickshire cup final, much-changed Eds returned to Midlands 1 West league action and, despite a brave performance, could do little to stem a rampant home side.
Eds forwards stood up strongly to a heavier and taller Bournville pack and emerged with plenty of credit on a hard ground with the sun beating down.
But behind them, a back division assembled at the last minute from limited resources could do little to prevent the avalanche of tries.
Eds were never in this game and although they trailed only 19-0 at the break they conceded another 34 afterwards, with a solitary try in reply.
Injuries, too, took a heavy toll, with forwards Sam Garnham and Alex Cape and centre Sven Brown all forced from the field.
Coach Paul Vowles was by no means displeased at his side's showing against high-riding Bournville as he said: "Our back line were unfamiliar with each other as they were put together late.
"However, it was a committed performance and we never gave in. Our effort was first class on a hard pitch and hot day."
Bournville went ahead on five minutes with a converted try they should never have been allowed. A clear case of crossing went unheeded by the referee and it was clear on the touchline that even the Bournville players thought it an infringement.
On eight minutes Craig Court became a replacement in what quite possibly was a unique event when he took over at prop in place of Jon Budgen, whose splendid new white boots were giving him agony. A benign referee allowed him to limp off and put on his old pair before returning to the fray.
After 10 minutes forward Sam Garnham departed with a shoulder injury and Tom Cottrill replaced him.
Budgen was back suitably booted after Bournville made it 12-0 with an unconverted try but things got worse soon after when Brown was hurt making a tackle. Winger Ashley Kalnins moved inside and James Wilson took his place.
Eds could do little about Bournville's third try, unconverted, on 19 minutes which took the score to 19-0 but they were now entering their best phase of the game.
Their pack began to dominate and several times embarrassed the home side by marching them back in powerful mauls.
Poor passing among the backs, however, wasted some scoring opportunities.
The second half belonged to Bournville and within five minutes of the resumption they made it 24-0 with an unconverted try.
Forward Alex Cape, who had been hurt just before half-time, now departed and Court returned to the front row with Budgen - and his black boots - dropping back a row.
Bournville continued to dominate and scored further tries on five minutes. seven minutes, nine minutes, 15 minutes, 22 minutes and 32 minutes.
Two of them were converted and that was enough to take them past the half-century on an exhausting afternoon for both sides.
On 12 minutes Eds had squeezed in their solitary try when scrum-half Jon Price had kicked ahead down the line and collected a kind bounce to score wide out. Kalnins was short with his shot at goal.
Survival in the league and reaching the county cup final are no mean achievement for Eds, an amateur club who frequently come up against others who throw money at players to buy their loyalty.

Pete Banwell was on the touchline but we confiscated his pen and paper so I will give you a quick, uncomplicated overview of the game on Saturday without any mention of superheroes, goats, greek gods or abusing fat props who have actually been with the club for 15 years but are confusingly making their debut!

Anyway, this was a Third Team fixture but it became a mixed side with many second team players getting a run out meaning some of us older stalwarts of the thirds could just play half a game, or in my case, not get changed and drink all day! The fun bus was on with 3 stops on the way home, porn provided by Bris (no surprise there) and hats off to Sausage for driving.

In the middle of the mirth and mayhem we played Berkswell and Balsall 2's. We won 36-20. Tries from AJ, Perry, Cox, Southall, Alcott and Krauth. Three conversions from Southall.

A PERFORMANCE of power and pace carried Old Eds to the final of the Warwickshire Cup as they saw off a lively Laurentians side under the Leamington lights.
Gone were the hesitancy and anxieties that have marred so many league matches this season as Eds put Laurentians, one league below but battling for promotion, firmly in their place.
A date in the final against Sutton Coldfield, who hammered Berkswell and Balsall 65-13 at Weddington in the other semi-final, is a fitting climax to Eds' centenary year. The game will be at Broadstreet RFC on Sunday, May 9.
Leading the way for Eds was big centre Jody Peacock, who had a night to remember as he constantly tore holes in the Laurentians defence and was a handful throughout.
Eds deservedly led 26-7 at half-time and, although the men from Rugby hit back after the break, a resolute Eds defence ensured that they were in charge at the final whistle.
But things went wildly wrong from the start for Eds as Laurentians were 7-0 up inside the first minute, thanks to their flying right wing, who has posed Eds so many problems in previous league encounters.
Stung by this early setback, Eds began to dominate upfront, with hooker Stuart Gibson and back-row flier Stuart Holes prominent, and on 15 minutes an irresistible forward drive took play to the Laurentian line and Peacock powered over from close range.
Fly-half Craig Quick, in a rare but welcome start for Eds, was wide with the conversion shot.
Full-back Adam Jones departed with a thigh strain and Ben Gilbert took his place as Eds turned on the gas against an increasingly flustered Laurentians side.
On 22 minutes winger Sven Brown grabbed the second try and Quick eased Eds ahead to 12-7 with the conversion.
Eds were now at their best and just three minutes later made it 19-7 with a Holes try converted by Quick.
On the half-hour centre Ricky Hyslop made way for Matt Steele and before the break Quick nipped in for a try under the posts and converted himself - 26-7.
As Laurentians gathered for their half-time inquest they must have been wondering what might await next season if they were to clinch promotion.
If Eds, third from bottom in Midlands 1 West, could fillet them so easily, what would the top sides do?
Eds continued to rattle them after the break and Peacock burst through again but Holes was unable to hang on to his difficult pass close to the line.
However, on eight minutes, scrum-half Jon Price took a quick tap penalty, and the ball reached Peacock again. This time a shrug and sidestep took him into the clear for a delightdul score and Quick made it 33-7 with the conversion.
John Wayte was a blood replacement in the Eds pack in place of Alex Cape, who was prominent throughout, and it was Laurentians who now began their best phase of this floodlit encounter.
An unconverted try in the corner made it 33-12 and on 20 minutes Laurentians saw a ray of hope when their flying winger scored again and the conversion made it 33-19.
Laurentians were still a threat and a series of penalty kicks to the corners put the Eds defence under continual pressure. Some crunching tackles, however, by Eds kept them from adding to the score and as the game went into injury time there was going to be only one winner.
A delighted Eds coach, Paul Vowles, was full of praise for his men and singled out Peacock for his outstanding evening.
He said: "I thought he was awesome tonight. We played really well and scored some great tries. We just need more consistency in our league games but this result means we have a chance to win something in the club's centenary season."

ANOTHER defeat snatched from the jaws of victory as Old Eds saw a commanding lead slip from their grasp on a sparkling spring afternoon in the Worcestershire countryside.
Leading 32-26 with just four minutes of normal time remaining and looking good for a rare Midlands 1 West league victory, Eds contrived to throw it away as Halesonians snatched a converted try and a penalty to land an unlikely victory.
It was a bitter blow for the visitors but they can hardly complain about the manner of their defeat. When Halesonians realised late in the game that their wingers had the edge on the Eds defence they made good use of them to pick up those vital points.
It had all looked so different from the start. Eds were much the livelier outfit and were on fire for the first 20 minutes in grabbing a 12-0 advantage. No.8 Stuart Holes stood out as his scrum-mates dominated and it was no surprise that Eds went ahead after five minutes. The ball sped through several pairs of hands and centre Sven Brown powered over close in.
Fellow centre Jody Peacock converted and things were looking good.
Ten minutes later they looked even better when full-back Ben Gilbert was up for a second try and this time Peacock was wide with his shot at goal.
On the half-hour second-row Craig Fielding left the field with a leg injury and Sam Wilson took his place.
Eds had by now lost their momentum, as they have done so often in and enigmatic season, and Halesonians hit back with a try wide out.
Soon after it was 12-12 as the home side grabbed a second try, this one converted.
As the half went into injury time Holes picked up from the back of a scrum and went over unmolested to give his team a 17-12 advantage at the break.
A spell of indifferent scrapping heralded the second half before, on eight minutes, Holes again powerfully made ground from a scrum and Peacock scored under the posts and converted himself - 24-12 to Eds and well in charge.
On 16 minutes Peacock missed an easy penalty attempt before Alex Cape replaced Ady Nightingale in the back row, then Peacock made it 27-12 soon after with a penalty and it looked like being a romp.
Halesonians came back, however, on 21 minutes with a converted try to make it 27-19 and things got a lot worse four minutes later when Eds conceded a converted pushover try - 27-26 and holding on.
Time was ebbing away as Gilbert rounded off an Eds attack with an unconverted try but it was enough to take Eds clear to 32-26.
Tom Burdett came on as Gilbert departed and soon after Eds could do nothing as the home side swept through again for a try under the posts which was improved.
On 40 minutes they increased their lead to 36-32 with a penalty and Eds drove back for one last effort which fizzled out on the home line.
It was a shattering blow after leading for so long and coach Paul Vowles admitted: "I'm at a loss today. How we have not won I'll never know."
And now the good news. Stoke's defeat by Dudley Kingswinford ensures that Eds stay third from bottom and retain their league status.

No fun for 2’s

Edwardians journey to win the Warwickshire 1 title came to a sudden halt on a warm sunny Saturday afternoon at home to league leader’s Old Laurentians. The visitors started well with a diagonal kick from the fly half into space towards the right wing, the ball bounced and sat up in front of the winger who was able to collect at full pace and jink past covering defenders. The early try disrupted Edwardians who appeared to be trying too hard to make things happen, they were rocked again when slightly against the run of play the visitors crossed the line again, converting, leaving the home side trailing by 12 points.
The visitors kicked long and chased well to keep the home side pinned down in their own half for long periods of the first half. The referee had an increasing influence in the game and made the first of several decisions that had a bearing on the eventual result of the game. The first was when the visiting hooker, who could have been provoked, punched his opposite number 4 / 5 times in the face, the decision was to yellow card both players when a red had to be the colour for the offence from the visiting hooker. The second was then to play contested scrums without both hookers on the field and the third was to sin bin the Eds captain after a football like dive was performed by the canny visitors. The penalty awarded for the latter was converted taking Old Laurent’s to a comfortable 15 nil half time lead.
Changes in position were made to combat the visitors kicking game and almost from the kick off Ross charged down a kick on half way, collected the ball and managed to out sprint the defenders, Carter converted. Edwardians looking far more balanced started to pressurise the visitors. The set piece was being won and Laurent’s could not cope with the pressure being exerted in the scrum. The referee came to the aid of the of the visitors, penalising the dominant home pack for a string of offences as the OL’s front row collapsed or gave way to the more powerful front row.
The visitors scored a great try, a burst of pace from the fly half, a pass to the supporting hooker who grounded under the posts taking the score to 22 -7. With 25 mins left Eds had a challenge on but being so dominant up front there was a good chance to turns things around. The 2’s showed that dominance from a line out on half way which was mauled all the way to the line for Tej to claim the try on behalf of the home pack and Duncan Carter made the manager eat his words when he converted from wide right.
A cowardly off the ball incident incenses Captain Walton when the home hooker was punched from behind in the face which needed medical attention and was later diagnosed as a broken nose by the player who should have been red carded in the first half. No action was taken by the referee who was possibly unsighted.
Shortly after a line out was caught and was being mauled by 2’s towards the line, the visiting forwards attempted to collapse the maul and were ran over by the front two forwards who had split a few feet away from the following pack.
One of the players who tried to collapse the maul was the visiting hooker who was restrained by his own players claiming his face had been trodden on. The referee’s decision was a straight red for the home hooker and a second yellow for the visiting hooker.
Last few minutes were frustrating for the home side. Decisions continued to be given against the dominate pack and to sum up a fine afternoon for the referee he gave a knock on as the last play of the game when the home forwards all confirmed the ball was grounded over the line.
The game ended 14 -22. Congratulations to Old Laurents, they had a bit of luck and the best of the decisions but you still have to be good enough to take what’s on offer and they did this and were certainly the better side in the first half.
The incidents out shadowed the rugby which was a shame, and the afternoon spotlighted some Angels and Villains. The home forwards were fantastic and we marvelled at the front row that looked like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman and had the visitors under intense pressure throughout the entire game.
Captain Wallace Evil was heard to say to his small cloned side kick Ickle Me in the bar afterwards “Are you really my clone, you look more like Pez than me.” With a new arrival on the way it will supply a few more clues to the Ickle Me family tree. Will the youngster look like Ickle Me, or will Ickle Me prove to belong to Pez? Quite honestly I can’t tell the difference between the 3 of them.

DEFEAT in the Shropshire sunshine left Old Eds coach Paul Vowles fuming as he reflected on one of his side's worst performances of a rollercoaster Midlands 1 West season.
Pushed around up front and outrun in the backs, Eds were never in this game and the scoreline was a fair reflection of an afternoon of misery for the visitors.
Vowles admitted: "We just didn't turn up at all. Last week (against Leamington) we tackled everything but today we tackled like a wet lettuce. We couldn't have tackled a good dinner and we still need another win to be safe."
Eds now lie third from bottom and - with two sides likely to go down after Solihull dropped out of the league - can thank basement side Cheltenham North for their unexpected win over second-from-bottom Stoke for easing their worries.
At Whitchurch, Eds simply could not match the fire and verve of their opponents and struggled throughout a depressing afternoon.
To make matters worse, Old Eds prop Adam Wilson looks like being out for the rest of the season after he was taken to hospital with ligament damage.
Eds began in lively enough fashion and after five minutes centre Jody Peacock had the chance to put them ahead with a simply penalty shot but badly scuffed his effort.
Within another 10 minutes, however, Whitchurch had gone into a 12-0 lead with two tries, the second converted.
Both scores came about from cruel bounces which left the Eds defence floundering as Whitchurch swept on to loose balls and sped over.
Things were getting worse - much worse - on 20 minutes when the Eds defence was nowhere as Whitchurch made it 17-0 with another easy converted try - 17-0.
Whitchurch's pack front eight were having a field day as they continued to pressurise Eds and on 26 minutes it was 22-0 with an unconverted pushover try.
Three minutes later, in a rare drive on the home line, Wilson was injred and carried from the field for Tom Simpson to take his place.
Eds Full-back Greg Way had been injured earlier and he now departed. Winger Ben Gilbert dropped back and Jake Woodcock went on to the flank.
Just before half-time Eds showed a rare moment of skill as Peacock brushed a defender aside and went over for a try which he converted himself and give his side a glimpse of hope at 22-7.
It was clear that Eds were going to have to keep the ball away from the home pack and for 13 minutes they managed that. Then Whitchurch scored again from a set piece and they were 27-7 ahead.
Things got worse on 26 minutes with another unimpeded stroll under the posts and the conversion made it 34-7.
Minutes later flanker Stuart Holes departed with a shoulder injury and a pack reshuffle saw veteran Tim Bristlin come on. It meant that the former skipper had taken the field for Eds in four decades.
A dispirited Eds side were by now offering little resistance and Whitchurch raced away for another converted try - 41-7.
Too late - much too late - centres Ricky Hyslop and Peacock drove play to the Whitchurch line and scrum-half Ashley Kalnins went over from the resulting scrum.
Peacock's shot at goal hit a post and another sad show in an enigmatic season for Eds was over.
Skipper Paul Rees called his men together in a huddle and in an angry address the only word that he said which can be recorded was "embarrassing."
It must have been a long trip back home on the coach.

Leamington cannot halt Edwardians thirst for the “Famous Five”

The Isle of Weddington is always a great place for a game, and Wally, Jessie, and the boys were boosted by the return of Shorty from boarding school home for the Easter holidays. It was a lovely warm day and a picnic was planned after the game with plenty of home made ham rolls and copious amounts of ginger beer. Wally was excited and could not wait to start the game and was pleased to include his chums AJ and Kerry Hinton
Five wins required to take the league, and mysteries before the game that the boys and Jessie wanted to solve, why had the visitors got 25 players? Who was the dark haired tubby stranger in the front row? Where was the managers note book? Could the referee be the missing scientist? And was Duncan really eating peanuts?
Edwardians started well and were halted by strange offside decisions given by the referee in the early phases of the game. Cheeky Rossy was perplexed along with many of the home crowd - was it because the referee was the missing scientist only time would tell.
Sean Krauth burst through Leamington tackles to put the home side in front and Duncan Carter chipped over from in front of the posts. It was at this stage the Manager realised he had left his notebook in the changing rooms.
Doc Commane finished off a fine move with a belly flop over the line and Carter converted, 2’s looked well on top at this point but the visitors hit back winning the ball against the head at a scrum on the home side’s 22 yard line. The ball was kicked forward by the hooker hitting the opposition legs and rebounded into the Leamington side of the scrum, a quick break followed and the home side was caught cold as Leamington open their account with a converted try to make the score 14-7. The visitors were boosted by the score and had chances to improve, but handling errors and missed penalties at this stage let the home side settle back into a set pattern and just before half time Quick burst through the centre to score under the posts, Carter converted. Half time score 21 -7.
At Half time Leamington explained that the 3rds had been called off and they included a number of extra players on the bench, Cheeky Rossy was still trying to question the offside rule with the ref. which annoyed Quicky who cried you are horrid to the ref. cheeky Rossy. No one had a clue who the dark haired tubby stranger eating all the wine gums was.
2’s half time pep talk worked as Quick raced into the corner in the opening minutes of the second half. This was soon followed by an excellent demonstration of power from Jessie when he smashed his way over the line, Carter converted taking the score to 33 – 7. The visitors hit back with a quick tap from a penalty which caught the home side talking to the referee and the visitors’ score was increased by an unconverted try. 2’s hit back soon after Cox pick up at the base of the scrum and passed to Shorty who scampered around the cover defence, Carter converted to take the score to 40 -12. A Doc Commane try soon after took the game out of reach of the visitors and there were a few moments of frustration when one card was issued for use of feet and the visiting prop had 3 sessions of handbags with Banwell, Cox and Ginger Tim which led to funniest incident of the game when the scrum was halted to check if the prop had a scratch on his face. Cheeky Rossy finished Edwardians 8 try haul when he turned and held off 3 defenders to cross the line, Quick converted taking the score to 52 – 12.
After the game with a glass of lemonade in hand Wally explained Duncan is cramp at rugby that’s why he has to eat the salted peanuts. Well that’s what I think he said.
Leamington coaches said that they had seen the referee before and he was not the missing scientist, but no one had a clue who the dark haired tubby stranger was eating all the food and washing it down with Nicks finest…..
