An open letter from Club President Bill Ormerod:

Planning for the Old Eds Centenary season is starting to gather pace. A number of meetings have been held recently to try to pull together ideas and we intend to have a calendar of events in place within the next few months. However to give you a preview here are a few thoughts:-

• Centenary Game V Warwickshire as close to 18th Feb 2010 as possible
• Veterans Centenary Game in period Kit
• Centenary Dinner weekend at Twickenham in May 2010 including Thames Brunch Cruise
• Viewing Gallery plans are being drawn up for possible construction this summer
• Centenary Tour to USA or Canada
• Special Limited Edition Old Edwardian Centenary Scotch Whisky
• Special Centenary Merchandise will be available

Membership of the Centenary Fund gives a number of positive benefits:-

• Your place at the Centenary Dinner is both Guaranteed and Prepaid.
• You are allocated a number in the Centenary Raffle, £1,000 first prize.
• Your name inscribed on a brick in the Viewing Gallery or Honours Board.

It’s still not too late to consider donating to the Centenary Fund. The response so far has been encouraging and to really set the seal on the Centenary celebrations, we need your donation to make it happen. You can join with either a single donation of £350 or pay by standing order at 48 monthly payments of £9. Joint membership is also available.

If you’ve been thinking about it, then this really is the time to act. It’s a classic case of a little effort by many, to create something really worthwhile and permanent, lasting well into the Eds’ second century.
